The professional bio is the first and foremost the imperative copy you need to write about yourself.  

We need to have these three elements in personal branding [professional bio], stated by Schawbel:

  • Value Proposition: What do you stand for?
  • Differentiation: What makes you stand out?
  • Marketability: What makes you compelling?

The professional bio copy is as important as your signature.


They define you, yet symbolize your experience, capabilities, and proficiency in your field. It’s grueling to write a copy without a proper structure. Understand the professional bio will help you bring in HR, future clients, and industry leaders to your profile; therefore it should have a captivating copy.

Example using my own bio,

Ali is a Creative Account Manager who works with 360 Degrees Creative Solutions to develop marketing strategies. Sheikh Ali can create integrated marketing campaign through effective market research. Sheikh Ali has worked with Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Lay’s and numerous clients to construct ideas for their latest campaigns. Sheikh Ali is awarded “Alpha Mu Alpha” National Marketing Honorary Society in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement in the marketing discipline. Sheikh Ali holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Global Marketing Management from Pace University, New York.
